Whenever you open a new drawing, whether it is one that you created and have not used for some time or it’s a drawing from another designer architect or surveyor there are some simple checks worth making before you start work.
Check the file size of the drawing – use File > Check File Size
Purge unwanted entities – use Tools > Purge Unused Objects
Check for entities well away from the design center – use Zoom Extents
Use the distance command and measure the size of a known object.
Check layers and turn all layers on
Check text and dimension styles available for use.
