Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP

Frequent Questions

Many computer users learn to use a computer by 'trial and error' or when a workmate or friend shows them how to use applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel. Although the proper use of these programs depends heavily on an understanding of the way in which a computer and most importantly, the computer's operating system works, users are rarely given (or take) the time to learn to use the operating system properly, be it Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows XP or Linux. Since there are many useful tools 'buried' or 'bundled with an operating system such as Windows, productivity is often much less than it could be.

This course will show you how to get much more out of your computer. You will learn to use the many tools available in the operating system and how to manage your work more effectively. Particular attention is paid to teaching you how to customize the computer environment such that saving work is done in an organized manner.

Course duration & cost:

Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP normally takes a day - a morning and afternoon session. Cost is $285.00 per person inc. GST.

Prerequisites:

You do require some understanding of how a computer works - how the keyboard, screen, system box, programs and applications etc. function. If you do not have this level of understanding, our course 'Introduction to Computers' will give you the basics of this. If not, we would expect that you have had some experience using an application such as Word or Excel before starting this course.  Note that this is not primarily a word processing, spreadsheet or database course.
