The aim of this set of notes is to
provide some 'in-depth' guidance for those considering
wishing to learn about the use of FrontPage and who are contemplating
taking a course with us (Design Cad Pty Ltd, University of
Adelaide Commerce and Research Precinct, 24 Stirling Street,
Thebarton, South Australia).
FrontPage, Microsoft's powerful tool for creating
and maintaining web sites is a premier tool for creating
and maintaining web sites. If you can use Microsoft
Word, you can develop web sites using FrontPage. Your web sites
should be built with an aim in mind and you should (in our view) perform
some sort of cost benefit analysis on the effort that you put in. Does
your site justify the money it costs to develop and maintain?
FrontPage webs can either be be mounted on the
Internet
or hosted on a computer 'in-house' (an Intranet). We show you how to use FrontPage to
design and create web sites that focus on your (or your organization's)
individual needs. By the end of the course, you will be able to create
(and maintain)
your web site without the need to rely on others to update content.
Click
here to
view a web site developed by a student during the course - from no
knowledge to this in one day. Clearly, the site is not complete, but all
the owner of the site has to do is fill in the textual details on appropriate pages.
Incidentally, writing the words is not simple. It is a good idea to
prepare some written material before you start crafting your site.
You first step in determining a
suitable training program for
your needs should be to make sure that you understand what it is
that you want to achieve i.e. you need to define your aims at the
outset.
We offer
An Introduction to FrontPage and
Advanced FrontPage. The cost is
$A750.00 when taken in-house at our Thebarton training centre and
$A250.00 when taken via our distance learning program.
Please note that we
find it extremely difficult to align the needs of those students who have
not taken the Introduction to FrontPage course with us and who wish
to enrol for our advanced FrontPage course. We find that most students are at quite different skill levels.
If you are in this category, please play the review movie below and consider the topics in the
Advanced FrontPage course and send us an email note
telling us something about your exact needs before enrolling.
-
If you are thinking
about enrolling on one of our courses via distance learning, we would like you to try out a "Sample
CAD course" - this is a Computer Aided Design course, but it will give
you some idea of the quality of our materials,
-
Our courses contain many
instructional movies and we want to be reassured that your equipment
works with the movies that we make to illustrate the use of FrontPage
tools commands
so play at
least one of our sample movies embedded
in the home page of this web site (there is an FrontPage example).
-
Make sure that you have a copy of
FrontPage on your computer and establish that it works before ordering a course.

distance
learning program which is supported by email contact between our
FrontPage tutors and
students.
