A major problem arises when using Microsoft Project Standard 2003. If you create a summary task (so that you have a group of tasks as a phase under the summary, it becomes impossible to promote these tasks (Microsoft uses the ugly term outdent to describe this process).

The solution: go to the Microsoft site and download a patch which fixes the problem. It is a 5Mb file. Make sure that you have your original distribution CD-ROM before you apply the patch as you will need it.
