Q. Will Cardfile still work under Windows 95?

I am used to using Cardfile.exe, a simple database program that was supplied with Windows 3.1. can I use it in Windows 95?

A. Yes it will work

Legacy programs such as cardfile will work under Windows 95 (and 98). Although there is no Setup.exe program to go with these older programs, it is a simple matter to create a folder (in say Program Files) called Cardfile and all you need to do is copy Cardfile.exe and Cardfile.hlp to that folder. Then create a shortcut to the program. The interface looks a bit clunky, but cardfile works.

Many people use cardfile to hold their list of contacts. Perhaps it is time to look for a better alternative. Don't forget that Outlook Express has a much better contact manager. It is standard with Windows 98.
