Advanced FrontPage

 

This course introduces you to some of the more advanced features of FrontPage, Microsoft's powerful tool for creating web sites.

Course duration:

If you take this course in-house, advanced Microsoft FrontPage runs over a full day, starting at 9.15 am and finishing around 4.30 pm.

Prerequisites:

An understanding of basic computer operation including being able to create, save and locate files. Some experience in using a Microsoft FrontPage. We prefer that students have taken our FrontPage-HTML course.

Reviewing various techniques that can be used to improve the ranking of a site by Internet Search Engines.

Managing the hosting process

Advice on how to host, where to host, obtaining meaningful statistics regarding visitors to your site.

Page Layout

Using different page layout templates including the use of frames. Building your own template.

JavaScript

Using JavaScript in web pages as an aid to navigation, running sub pages etc.

FrontPage Components

More on hit counters, hover buttons, marquee. 

Excel Data

Inserting Excel spreadsheet data in a web page. Office connectivity.

Pivot Tables

Using Office Pivot Tables to consolidate information from different parts of Excel spreadsheets in a web page.

Forms

Pages containing forms. Form handling. Drop down menus. CGI scripts.

Databases

Database connectivity.

 

Note: In addition to providing courses in our dedicated training centre located within a campus of the University of Adelaide, we also run many courses via our distance learning program. This course is not yet available via our distance learning programme.
