This course
introduces you to Outlook, Microsoft's powerful email
program for personal computers.
If 'An Introduction to Outlook ' is taken
'in-house' in our
Computer Learning Center, it normally runs for a day
with a break for lunch. Starting time is 9.15 am
and finish around 4.30 pm. The cost
is $285.00 per person and includes GST.
Payment is not required in advance. We will provide a tax invoice on
completion of the course and we encourage payment by direct deposit
to our bankers.
Payment for distance courses is
accepted through the the
PayPal system which provides secure credit card
facilities across the Internet.
An
understanding of basic
computer operation including being able to create, save and locate files.

The Internet |
Since Microsoft Outlook is an
email client which relies on the Internet, this module provides a
brief introduction to the Internet and its role in providing
email services. We also include a survey of
various alternative email clients in addition to Outlook - Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora, Eudora
Pro and the use of web browsers as email clients. |

Outlook functions - installing Outlook, the Outlook interface,
outlook bar and folders, the Inbox view, drop down menus, toolbars,
using views, creating categories, a brief look at the major
Outlook components - email, contacts,
calendar, tasks, journal etc. Printing an Outlook file.

Outlook
settings

Managing Outlook's settings,
email accounts, mail servers, etc. Protecting your investment -
backing up Outlook .PST files.

Using Outlook as an Email Tool |
An in-depth look at the use of
Outlook as an email client. Using Word as an email editor,
accessing the address book, inserting email addresses, CC and
BCC. Attaching files. Sending email. Grouping and sorting the
contact list. Finding items, reading messages, organizing
messages, applying rules to incoming email messages.

the calendar
|
Scheduling meetings, setting
reminders, designating recurring appointments. Scheduling a
meeting, sending meeting requests.

Managing Tasks
|
Exploring Tasks, adding a new
task, assigning tasks, making tasks complete, inserting a
recurring task, copying a task, using filters, working with
groups, sorting the task pad list.

In addition to providing courses in our dedicated training
